Let's design a home that tells A story.

On November 1st, Amber Lewis will be releasing her second collection of rugs with Loloi. If the first was any indication, then I am sure that the second will be just as popular and sell out just as quickly. I’m sharing a few things you need to know about the upcoming release!

THE COLLECTIONS

For her second collaboration with Loloi, Amber Lewis designed two new rug collections (the Morgan and the Alie) and several new pillows. Each collection is unique with a few color options giving a nod to a few popular originals.

The original collection featured power loom printed rugs with an introduction to a slight cross weave over the top. The Alie is most similar to this style, however, it features a higher pile and the cutest fringe detail at each end. The Alie Collection most closely resembles the Zuma Collection and offers a variety of options in neutral colors.

The Morgan Collection features Cloud Pile construction with printed patterns resembling the faded designs of vintage textiles. The Cloud pile design has the benefit of having a gorgeous vintage-inspired pattern printed across plush carpet. The pile sits higher than the original power loom making it extremely soft to the touch and eliminating the need for a rug pad. The Morgan rugs are most similar to popular Loloi rugs, such as the Billie in Ink/Salmon, the Jules in Lagoon/Brick, and the Layla in Olive/Charcoal.

Amber Lewis added 15 new throw pillows along with two cotton throw blankets for her second collaboration with Loloi Rugs. Similar to the Blythe and the Belmont pillows, the new collection of pillows feature plaids, stripes, and vintage loomed rug patterns in neutral tones. This collection of pillows offers square and lumbar options of almost every design. The new cotton throw blankets come in two colors, denim blue and warm gray with the prettiest cross stitch and tassel feature.

RUG SIZING

Though Loloi is known to not release traditional rug sizing, such as an 8 x 10 or a true 5×7, the original Billie Collection, and Georgie Collection aimed closely to the middle of these standard sizes. Be advised that the new Morgan Collection has altered rug sizing. The Morgan area rugs are shorter in width and length by about 3 inches while the Morgan runner is 3 inches narrower than the original collections (length remains the same). It might be wise to double-check your measurements and size up if you have a larger living space to allow for more room in pathways between furniture.

The new Alie Collection continues the same sizing as the Zuma Collection. Similarly to the Zuma Collection, the Alie Collection offers round rug options with a new larger size in a 7’1″ round option.

The pillow collection continues to offer 22 x 22-inch square pillows along with many lumbar pillow options. Again, you’ll be able to choose your filing whether you prefer a polyester fill, a down blend, or only the pillow cover. Prices vary based on your insert choice.

COLOR VARIATION

Since each rug is printed individually, there will again be a variation from rug to rug. This makes each rug unique. Be aware that the Amber Lewis x Loloi rugs are heavily influenced by the environment, the lighting, and the time of day. Your rug may look different from another buyer’s photos or the product photos online. The variation isn’t drastic, like a change in pattern, but you may notice that one rug has a stronger green hue while another may have a stronger blue hue.

I found this to be true with the Morgan Sea/Sage rug I had originally purchased. In my home based on the amount of light my room received, I found that the Morgan rug was too striking at certain times of the day and the rug almost glowed. I ended up switching out the Morgan Sea/Sage option for the Morgan Ink/Sunset version which has a warmer undertone and went better with my home decor.

SELL OUT RISK

In most cases, common area rug sizes and pillows sell out the quickest. The kitchen runners closest to 7 feet and the 8×10 inch area rugs are the most popular because they fit most homes. I predict the 8’3″ x 11’3″ rectangle option and the 2’3″ x 7’6″ runner in the Morgan Collection, the 7’10” x 10′ rectangle option and the 7’10” round in the Alie Collection will be the quickest to sell. The neutral throw pillows like the Jay Ivory square pillow, Bell Black lumbar, and the Dahlia Ivory square pillow are sure to be the best sellers!

If you are interested in any of the new collections and are worried that your favorites will sell out, they’ve been available for purchase for a few weeks on Amazon and Wayfair If you’re considering purchasing an area rug for a large room in your house, I recommend waiting until companies have sales.

The Morgan Collection, the Alie Collection, and all the new pillows for the WayDay Sale happening right now! Get ahead of the crowd and launch day to ensure you get the rug or pillow that you want!
